Competition Team

Our Competition Team is an invite-only programme for dancers who demonstrate commitment, potential, a positive attitude, and an outstanding work ethic.

​

Students are welcome to express an interest in joining; however, invitations are offered solely at the discretion of our teaching team based on a dancer’s attitude, progress, dedication, and readiness for competitive training.

 

 

Training & Commitment

​

Competition Team members follow a structured training programme designed to develop technically strong, versatile performers.

​

All Competition Team dancers are required to attend:

• Ballet

• Tap

• Jazz

• Troupe

​

​

Whilst Conditioning / Jazz Technique is not compulsory, it is highly recommended and plays an important role in developing strength, flexibility and technical ability.

​

Troupe forms the foundation of our competition programme, developing not only performance quality, musicality and discipline, but also a team-first mentality where every dancer contributes to the success of the whole team.

​

Expectations

Competition Team members are expected to:

​

• Demonstrate consistent progress and a strong work ethic.

• Work positively and with focus in every class.

• Practise independently outside of lessons.

• Maintain excellent attendance across all Competition Team classes and associated training.

• Commit fully to the current All England competition cycle through to July 2028, when teams will be reviewed and restructured for the 2029–2030 season.

• Be available to participate in Elite Dance Festivals during the Easter and October half-term festivals.

• Be an exceptional teammate, celebrating the success of others as enthusiastically as their own.

 

Competitive training requires dedication, resilience, consistency and a positive attitude. We value kindness, humility and teamwork just as highly as technical ability.

Further Opportunities

As dancers develop within the Competition Team, they may be invited to represent the school in:

• Solos

• Duets

• Trios

• Quartets

These opportunities are offered at the discretion of the teaching team and are based on individual readiness, commitment and performance.

Competitions

All Competition Team members are required to attend our compulsory Elite Dance Festivals held during:

• Easter Half Term

• October Half Term

 

These festivals provide valuable performance experience, help prepare dancers for the All England competition pathway, and play an important role in each dancer’s development.
